I wish I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard this story. I heard it twice today 🙁
A new client or challenge participant is getting ready to start training with us here at Akin Training and Yoga….
They’re nervous but excited to see some results.
It’s right in the mid of the HOLIDAY Season, Christmas is over but the parties never end…. so we “wait” until a FRESH start in January right? Last year you went on a bender and decided to finish strong before we expected to just pull on the brakes.
Why, you ask?
Because you are feeling it’s a “last chance” to enjoy our favorite food and soon-to-be “forbidden” foods. Plus there’s another sensation…. I already fell off the wagon… I’ll be 100% on board when the program starts.
I’ve seen people create huge setbacks for themselves in the name of not being able to have what they love ever again.
And honestly, if you approach any workout or nutrition plan with that mentality, you will fail. It’s that simple.
It’s a harsh truth, but it needs to be told.
No food will ever be off limits. You live in an abundant society where food isn’t scarce, and anything you want can be yours at any time.
There is no all or none in health and fitness.
It can be as simple as smaller portions, decreased frequency of consumption, or preparing healthier alternatives to your favorite foods.
But there is never a reason to believe that you’re going to have to say goodbye to pizza and ice cream forever.
Do you feel like you are approaching this New Year this way? With a mentality “never again”? I’ll say goodbye to everything next week?
